Café Rouge has been selling Belu Water, the UK’s most ethical water brand, since 2008. Belu is 100% carbon neutral and by serving it in our restaurants we reduced our carbon emissions and avoided the equivalent emissions of 96 return flights London-Tokyo in 2014! Belu gives its profits to WaterAid, the clean water charity. Thanks to partners like Café Rouge, WaterAid has so far received £2.2 million from Belu, enabling them to continue to transform lives through access to clean water. We’ll drink to that!
We have a 3 year fund-raising partnership for children’s charity NSPCC and over the last 12 months we have raised a staggering £101,230 for this much-loved, important, and very worthwhile organization by donating 5p from every coffee we sell.
We have committed to source 100% free range eggs by 2025 as a commitment to responsible sourcing – Currently, all whole eggs that we use are already free range together with eggs used as ingredients for sauces. In partnership with Compassion in World Farming, we will transition the remainder of eggs used as ingredients to free range by 2025, sooner if we can.
Café Rouge has been named as the number one restaurant for sustainable sourcing of fish by Fish2Fork and The Marine Conservation Society. We are proud to ensure that we are minimising our impact on the seas and marine life.
